New Horizons presents three major fundraising events each year as a way to introduce participants and the general public to the work of our agency and showcase our mission.  Our events are intended as a creative way to mix raising public awareness with the generation of revenues.  These events and related corporate sponsorship and advertising opportunities include:

  • Annual "Make a Difference" Charity Auction
  • Annual Charity Golf Outing
  • Annual Awards Ceremony – “Commitment to Excellence”

On Friday, April 11, 2008, New Horizon hosted the 18th Annual “Make a Difference” Charity Auction.  The event, held before a sellout crowd at the Pontiac Marriott at Centerpoint, set a new record with over $133,000 raised!  The funds will be used to help create jobs and training opportunities for people with disabilities and empower them to achieve greater independence in their lives.

Next year’s charity auction will be held on Friday, April 24, 2009.  Check back on this page in early 2009 for detailed information on how you or your company can participate and support this successful event.

New Horizons will host its 14th Annual Charity Golf Outing on Friday, September 12, 2008 at the beautiful Woodfield’s Captains Club in Grand Blanc (a Ray Floyd signature golf course).  Registration begins at 9:00AM with a 10:00AM Shotgun start.  The day will include 18 holes of golf with cart and range balls, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  The event includes great door prizes, raffles, and a “Traveling Trophy” to the winning foursome.  Register early to be part of this great Fall weekend golf outing.

The 44th Annual Awards Banquet and Ceremony, a Celebration of Achievements”, will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the Pontiac Marriott at Centerpoint.  This heartwarming evening honors consumers for their accomplishments and triumphs over their disabilities in achieving employment, personal improvement, and independence.  Additionally, employers and volunteers are honored for providing support, job opportunities, and encouragement to New Horizons and the consumers.
